For independent restaurants and fitness studios

Your website should answer two questions, then get out of the way.

What is on the menu or in the first class, and how do I order, reserve, or book? I fix the pages that answer those questions, connect them properly to the ordering or booking system you already pay for, and then keep the agreed information current every month so it does not drift out of date.

I work solo and remotely. You deal with one person, on one channel, with a written scope and a fixed monthly price.

The problem

Two audiences, one job to do

Most independent businesses do not have a website problem. They have an accuracy and access problem: the right information is somewhere, but not where the customer is looking, and the path to the next step is broken or buried on a phone.

Restaurants

Someone is standing outside or sitting on a couch at 6pm with a phone. They want the current menu, tonight's hours, the address, and one obvious way to order or reserve.

  • A menu that is a photo or a PDF, unreadable and unsearchable on a phone
  • Holiday hours that disagree between the website and the Google listing
  • An order or reservation link that is dead, wrong, or three taps deep

Pilates, yoga and other studios

A first-time visitor wants to know whether a class suits a beginner, what the introductory offer actually costs, what to bring, and how to book it now.

  • An intro offer with no stated price, eligibility, or expiry
  • No plain answer to "I have never done this - which class do I start with?"
  • A booking link that lands on a generic homepage instead of the class purchase page
I check what you already own first. Square, Toast, Mindbody, OfferingTree and similar providers already include websites, ordering, or booking for eligible customers, and some include maintenance. If the tools you already pay for cover what you need, the honest answer is that you should use them, and I will tell you so rather than sell you overlapping work. A new website is only the right answer when it solves something your current setup genuinely does not.

The setup - $500 one time

One of two modes, chosen before you are quoted

We agree which mode fits during discovery and write it into the scope sheet. It is one or the other. It is not both projects for one price.

Mode A - improve what exists

Up to three agreed pages in your existing, editable website. Preferred when your current site works and you can grant editing access.

Mode B - a small new site

A three-page site, built only when discovery shows a new one is genuinely justified and you can maintain it afterwards.

Restaurants: Home, Menu, Visit.
Studios: Home, Classes / First Visit, Visit / Book.

Included either way

  • One business location, one language, up to eight photos you supply
  • Copy written from facts you supply and approve before it goes live
  • Readable HTML menu of up to 30 items across up to five sections, from one source you approve (restaurants)
  • Up to 12 class types and one current introductory offer with its price, eligibility and expiry (studios)
  • Clear call and directions links, plus verified links to your existing ordering, reservation or booking service
  • One primary customer action prioritised on every page
  • Basic search setup and a documented quality check you receive a copy of
  • Search Console verification and sitemap submission with you, once the final domain is live and access exists
  • A Google Business Profile review plus up to 30 minutes of agreed factual corrections, where the business is eligible and you grant access
  • One consolidated revision round, file and configuration handover, and a 14-calendar-day window for correcting defects in what I built

Not included in the setup

  • Ecommerce, custom booking or payment systems
  • Migrating an existing site or changing your POS
  • Ongoing blogging or content campaigns
  • Backlink campaigns or comprehensive SEO programmes
  • Custom integrations or new API work
  • Any promise about rankings or revenue
Proposed timing, not a guarantee. I aim for a first preview within seven business days of receiving your deposit, the content, and the access I need. This is a service target I confirm against my availability before you sign anything. Google verification, indexing and anything waiting on you run on their own timelines.

Monthly care - $149 per month

A capped, specific amount of work every month

This is the part people usually leave vague, so here is the whole boundary in a table. If your information never changes and nothing needs checking, you do not need this plan and I will say so.

What $149 per month buys, and where it stops.
What you getThe boundary
One batch of updates One consolidated, owner-approved batch taking up to 30 minutes total across the agreed pages and your eligible Google Business Profile. For example: supplied menu prices, holiday hours, one intro-offer change, or a supplied event notice. Anything further waits for next month's batch or gets a separate quote. Unused time does not roll over.
One scheduled check Once a month I check the agreed pages, the primary call, order and booking links, and your public business facts, and record the result with a date. This is a scheduled check, not continuous uptime or security monitoring. Anything complex is reported and quoted separately.
One short report What was changed, what was checked, whatever search and profile figures are available, anything blocking me, and one recommended next action. You get a report even in a month where nothing needed changing.
One contact channel Proposed targets: I acknowledge you within two business days, and complete an approved in-scope batch within five business days of receiving everything needed. I confirm these against my actual availability before selling you the plan.

Explicitly not in the monthly plan

  • Emergency or 24/7 response of any kind
  • Unlimited revisions or daily updates
  • New pages or new features
  • Running your POS, booking system or memberships
  • Paid advertising
  • Any guaranteed ranking or revenue outcome

Cancellation and ownership

  • Month-to-month, with a renewal date stated in writing
  • Cancel by email any time before the next renewal date
  • Service continues through the period you have paid for, then charges stop
  • You keep your accounts, your domain, the site and content you paid for, and everything you supplied
  • Care pays for my labour. It is never a condition of keeping your website switched on
My planning assumption: about 60 minutes of my time per client per month - roughly 30 minutes of edits, 15 of checks, and 15 of communication and reporting. I track the real time. That is an operating assumption I am measuring, not a promise that every month fits inside it. If it repeatedly does not, I will come back to you with a revised scope or an openly discussed future price rather than quietly doing less.

Pricing

$500 setup, then $149 per month

Payment milestones and what each one covers.
WhenAmountWhat it covers
After you accept the written scope, before I start work specific to you$250First half of setup
After you accept the preview, before launch and handover$250Second half of setup
From the agreed start date after handover, then monthly$149Monthly care as scoped above

What the price does not include

  • A domain name, or its yearly renewal
  • Your ordering, reservation or booking subscription
  • Payment processing fees on your own customers' transactions
  • Any third-party service you separately approve

Anything in that list stays in your name, on your payment method, under your control. I will never put your subscriptions on my card.

Honest about the pricing itself

$500 and $149 are the prices I am testing with my first two clients. They are not researched market averages and I am not going to tell you they are a bargain. If the work repeatedly takes much longer than I have planned, I will change the price for future clients and talk to you before anything about your agreement changes.

If your problem is a two-minute fix, I will tell you that. A broken link is not a $500 project. If that is what you have, I would rather point it out and keep the door open than inflate it into work you do not need.

Process

How a project actually runs

  1. A 15-minute conversation

What should a new visitor do, what providers are you already paying for, what information changes and who updates it, and is there a real gap. If there is not, we stop here.

  2. A written scope, then a deposit

Mode A or Mode B, the exact pages, the exclusions, your responsibilities, the milestones, cancellation terms, and what handover includes. You accept it in writing before anything is billed.

  3. Content and access

You supply the facts, the photos you have rights to, and account invitations. I do not ask for your passwords or verification codes, ever.

  4. Build, check, preview

I build it, test it on a phone and a desktop, check keyboard use, contrast, alt text and every destination link, then send you a preview. You get one consolidated round of revisions.

  5. Launch and handover

Acceptance, a rollback copy, your files and configuration notes, who renews what, what is still outstanding, and the date the 14-day correction window ends.

  6. Monthly care begins - if it makes sense

Starting on an agreed date, and only where there is genuinely recurring work. Your first monthly report follows one cycle later.

Example of the work

A concept demo, not a client project

Abstract illustration of a three-page restaurant site: a home page, a menu page and a visit page, shown as simple stacked panels.
Bluepine Kitchen is a fictional restaurant. It does not exist. It has no address, no phone number, no Google listing and no customers. Nothing in the demo is a real business, a real client, or work I was paid for. Its contact buttons are deliberately inactive and cannot contact anyone.

I built it to show the structure and standard of the work: a readable HTML menu, an obvious primary action on every page, a visit page that answers the practical questions, and layouts that hold up on a phone. It is also the template I copy from when a client project starts.

I have not yet delivered this service to a paying client, so there are no case studies, results, or testimonials on this page. When there are, they will be published with permission and with figures I can actually stand behind.

Fit

Who this suits, and who it does not

A good fit if

  • You are an active, independent, single-location restaurant or studio
  • I can talk to whoever actually decides
  • There is a specific problem we can both look at on a screen
  • You have real photos, real facts, and can approve copy
  • Something genuinely changes month to month - prices, hours, offers, events
  • You already have a working way to take orders, reservations or bookings

Not a good fit if

  • Your current provider already includes the maintenance you need
  • Nobody can grant editing access to the site
  • You want ecommerce, a custom booking system, or a POS change
  • You have a large established site with rankings and complex dependencies
  • You want guaranteed first-place rankings - nobody can sell you those
  • Nothing about your information ever changes

FAQ

Questions worth asking me

Do you use AI to build this?
Yes. I use AI to help draft copy and produce code faster. I review everything before it reaches you, and every factual claim on your site comes from you and is approved by you before it goes live. What you are buying is reviewed work and reliable follow-through, not the fact that a tool was involved. AI being part of my process is not itself a business outcome and I will not present it as one.
Can you guarantee I will rank higher on Google?
No, and neither can anyone else. Local ranking depends on relevance, distance and prominence, and it cannot be bought from Google. I do the documented basics - descriptive titles and headings, useful accurate content, sensible internal links, image alternatives, compressed images, a correct sitemap, and checks that nothing is accidentally blocking crawling. Submitting a sitemap does not guarantee indexing, and indexing does not guarantee rankings or customers.
What happens to my Google Business Profile?
It stays yours. A Google Business Profile is free to create and manage - my fee covers my work, never access to Google. I would need manager access that you grant and can revoke, and I only make factual corrections you have approved. Google decides how verification works and it sometimes requires you personally, so I cannot promise a verification date. I will never ask you for a password or a verification code.
I already pay for Square / Toast / Mindbody. Do I need you?
Possibly not, and that is the first thing I check. Those providers include real capability - linked online ordering, connected websites, managed sites and maintenance for eligible customers. If what you are already paying for solves your problem, buying my service on top of it is waste. What I look for is a task the owner wants handled that the current setup does not cover, or cannot cover because nobody has editing access.
Who owns the website when we are done?
You do. The domain is registered in your name and paid for by you. The accounts are yours. You receive the source files and configuration notes for what I built, and where a third-party platform's own code or licensed assets are involved, those transfer only under whatever rights already apply to them - they are not mine to give away. If you stop working with me, I remove my access and your site keeps running.
How do I cancel the monthly plan?
Send me an email before your next renewal date. I finish the period you have already paid for, stop future charges, and hand back anything outstanding. There is no notice period, no cancellation fee, and no requirement to explain why. Refund and late-payment terms are written into the scope sheet so we agree them up front rather than arguing about them later.
Are you an agency? How many people are you?
One person. Me. Working remotely. There is no team, no office, and no certification behind this - if you want a large agency with a support desk, I am not that. What you get instead is that the person who builds it is the person who answers you.
How long until I see results?
I do not know, and I would be suspicious of anyone who tells you they do. Search effects can take hours or months and may not be noticeable at all. What I can promise is a specific, checkable set of work done on a schedule, reported honestly - including the months where the numbers did not move. I report what was changed, what was checked, and what the available data shows, and I keep those separate from any claim about cause.

Contact

Start with a 15-minute conversation

Tell me what a new customer is meant to do on your website, and what currently gets in the way. If I do not think I am the right answer, I will say so on that call.

There is deliberately no contact form on this site. That button opens your own email app with a subject line filled in - nothing is stored here and no submission is collected, so there is nothing that can silently fail without either of us knowing. If you would rather write from scratch, the address is rl.gregmgmt@gmail.com.

Useful things to include: a link to your website, what you want a new customer to do on it, and what is currently in the way.
